Nativity BVM Lifelong Faith Formation
Hello Nativity Families!
Welcome to the 2020-2021 Faith Formation Fall Program. We have been praying for all our families as the school year has gotten underway. We are praying for the safety, success, and mental health of all the children going back to school remotely, hybrid, or in person. May the God of Love send His Spirit to protect and care for all our children and families.
Although we will not be able to meet in person this fall, we are excited to unveil our Family Faith Formation Video Series which is being developed and produced right here at Nativity.
We will provide quality video-based faith formation for families starting this fall. We will evaluate the conditions in December/January in hopes of bringing back in-person faith formation in February through April. However, we will still offer the video series for any family that prefers it or is not yet comfortable with gatherings.
Here are a few of our goals for the Fall:
- Offer quality, fun, age appropriate video lessons. Each session will include a special video just for parents.
- Our program will focus on faith in the family AND how families can live their faith in the world.
- To offer families lots of flexibility, classes will not be live. All video lessons will be prerecorded
- Jesus is the center of everything we do!

Preview our First Family Session!
We invite one and all to preview the first session of our Fall Program.
As described in the Introduction Video shared above, we suggest parents start by watching the Parent Video on their own, without the kiddos around. This video is to help you prepare for and make the most of the family video. One of our goals for the program is that all family members, not just the children, have a chance to learn and grow in their faith. We also want parents to feel equipped and supported in their role as catechist at home.
Next, gather the family together. in a comfy spot, at a time when you have about 30 minutes to really focus and share together. Pick any time and day that works for your family. If possible, we suggest building the sessions into your Sunday schedule, either before or after attending or live-streaming mass (check out the "Mass and Worship" section of this site to link to our live-steam channel).
Third, you'll find a short video that reinforces the theme and lesson of the session, but is geared specifically towards the youngest members of your family! We are very focused on and excited about building our program to include all members of the family, young and old and everyone in between.
The last piece of our session (not pictured here) is interactive slides. The slides offer opportunities for your family to share with us...through written responses, pictures, etc. It is important that our families know we are interested and invested in what are doing from home. We are so excited to share our new program and help our families to grow, learn, worship, and continue inviting Jesus into their hearts and homes.
