Reconciliation
A Sacrament of Healing
Preparation for and the celebration of the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation typically happens in 2nd Grade. We invite you to read more about this sacrament on the website for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops: here.
Preparation: As in previous years, preparation for First Reconciliation will be parent/guardian-led. We provide a very easy-to-use workbook and a suggested timeline for completion. The workbook has short and easy to follow lessons with scripture, bible stories, prayer, and colorful pictures. The workbook is submitted back to the LFF office before the student receives the sacrament.
Preparation for the sacrament is an additional part of our Elementary Family program. Children wishing to prepare for and receive the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation must be enrolled in our school-year LFF program.
Ceremonies: Ceremonies dedicated to the celebration of First Reconciliation will be held in late January and February, as public health and safety requirements permit. The ceremonies are held late mornings on Saturdays.
Congratulations to all of the 2nd grade children who made the sacrament of
Penance and Reconciliation for the first time on the following dates:
Saturday, January 23, 2021
